Job Description

Possess a subject relevant Diploma/Degree.
Teacher, Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
We offer the ICT subject only to Lower Secondary students. The ICT subject offered at Spectra Secondary School covers the N(T) CPA curriculum which was previously offered at lower secondary in MOE schools.

School Counsellor
Job Description
Your main job responsibilities will comprise the following:
-
Develop suitable school counselling programme including a system for needs analysis, early identification and referral of students with mental health issues and social, emotional and behavioural problems.
-
Provide consultation as well as planning and conducting training for staff and parents on pertinent mental health issues and skills for first-line intervention and support.
-
Evaluate and report to the school management on the state of student mental health in the school, and the effectiveness of the school counselling programme.
-
Develop and conduct small and large group psycho-educational sessions for students on mental health issues and healthy coping strategies.
-
Develop and make mental health resources available for students, parents and staff.
-
Provide individual and group counselling to students.
-
Conference with staff, parents and external professionals and agencies on students being counselled, and conduct home visits where necessary.
-
Look into the referral of students and their families to community resources or external professionals, where needed.
-
Provide direct crisis intervention and follow-up to students affected by critical incidents.
-
Provide regular updates to school management on the progress of students being seen for counselling.
Requirements

Passion and disposition to work with students-at-risk.

Empathy for students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Aware of and sensitive to multicultural issues.

Resourceful and resilient.

Preferably with at least 3 years of relevant working experience. Experience working or volunteering with children or youths would be an advantage.

Applicants should possess a relevant counselling qualification, such as those recognised by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
Learning & Behavioural Support Officer
Responsibilities
Your main responsibility is to ensure that students with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties receive appropriate, timely and effective learning, behavioural and emotional support. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Identify students with various SEN (including autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia and attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder) and match them to appropriate interventions
-
Plan, conduct and monitor effectiveness of individualised and/or small-group intervention programmes for students with SEN.
-
Work with teachers to design, curate and manage teaching and learning resources for students with SEN or learning difficulties.
-
Provide case consultation and termly progress updates on students to teachers and school management.
-
Upkeep documentation on records, access arrangements and case management of students with SEN.
-
Contribute to school activities and staff training, especially in areas of educational development of students with SEN.
-
Provide support to families of students with special needs and conduct home visits where necessary.
-
Establish network with professional social service agencies for referral and access to community resources for specialised assistance/consultations.
Requirements
-
Preferably with 3 years of relevant working experience in school or social service setting, working with children and/or youth.
-
Resourceful and resilient, with good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively within tight deadlines.
-
Self-driven and service-oriented, with strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
-
University degree or Local polytechnic diploma in the any discipline, with qualification in special needs education, psychology or counselling preferred.
After School Engagement (ASE) Instructor (Part-time), Bike Station
Spectra is a Specialised Secondary School catering to technically inclined students.
Job Description
Your main job responsibilities will comprise the following:

Impart to students the basic knowledge & skills in bicycle assembly, maintenance and repair skills.
-
Teach and guide the students to use bicycle equipment and tools properly and safely.
-
Reinforce messages of safety and responsibility, when cycling on roads and in the public.
Requirements
-
Good knowledge and experience in bicycle repair, including knowledge of frame building, gear systems, brakes, wheels and tyre repair.
-
Possess a strong sense of mission to help and nurture student learners.
-
Able to commit every Monday, 2.30pm to 4.30pm during school terms.
